As the end of the year approaches, many are already beginning to draft their New Year’s resolutions. Often at the top of the list is to travel more. With so many locations to choose from, near and far, it’s hard to decide which will be the perfect getaway. To narrow the search down a bit more, here are the must-see destinations for 2019:

Belfast, Northern Ireland

When people think of Ireland, they often think of delicious beers and the great city of Dublin. Instead of going to the most popular Irish destination, travel north to Belfast. Located in Northern Ireland and a part of the United Kingdom, here you will find different accents and currency. Most notably, tourists will have the chance to walk the docks of the iconic ship Titanic when visiting the historic Titanic Museum. There are also gorgeous beaches and shorelines with beautiful views of North Ireland’s famous scenery.

San Francisco, California

To keep close to home, take a trip out to the golden coast of California. San Francisco is a famous and historic city in the heart of the Bay Area. Tourist attractions like Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Crookedest Street are all iconic sights for everyone to enjoy. Venture to Pier 39 for the well-known Bubba Gump Shrimp, popular dining, fun shopping and the famous seas lions that sit on the docks on the bay. Walking the streets in neighborhoods like the Mission District and Chinatown also offers a taste of the San Francisco culture.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Many people are traveling to Europe to experience the beautiful country of Italy. Instead of visiting their most famous cities like Rome or Tuscany, tourists are encouraged to go to the  Amalfi Coast. The gorgeous coast goes across 13 cliffside towns, made up of hiking trails and beaches to explore. Hop on a boat tour to venture the Mediterranean Sea and come back to land to stay at Italy’s finest luxury hotels. The Amalfi Coast is also home to the best and most authentic Italian seafood.

Maui, Hawaii

Another destination that is a little closer to home is Maui. While every island of Hawaii is beautiful and unique, Maui in particular is the one most worth the trip. The tiny island has breathtaking beaches, beautiful golf courses, famous hotels and even a volcano. Maui is emerged in greenery and sandy shorelines for visitors to relax and unwind. If you want more than laying around on the beach, there are also many snorkeling spots and tours for visitors to swim with dolphins.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

To truly experience beauty and culture, your next destination must be Abu Dhabi. While many flock to Dubai to visit the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi has much less tourist attractions but more captivating landscapes and cultural experiences. The destination is home to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the world. There is also camel riding and sandboarding for the more adventurous tourists to try. When staying in Abu Dhabi, there are Bedouin style woven huts and luxurious palm houses to stay the night.
